Independent support, whoever you bought it from
Bodor fiber lasers are installed in shops across Canada, but the manufacturer is overseas. When a machine goes down, the practical question is who can actually get to it — and how fast parts can be identified and shipped.
Rise Tek supports Bodor machines already operating in Canada. This is independent service: we are not a Bodor dealer and we do not sell new Bodor machines. Support is open to any Bodor owner regardless of where the machine was purchased.
Service and diagnosis, consumables, protective lenses and nozzles, parts sourcing, and remote or on-site troubleshooting. We can also service other fabrication machinery beyond the brands we currently sell.
Machines we support
The BCL, BCF and BC series sheet and tube cutting machines. Most Bodor systems in the field pair an IPG or Raycus laser source with CypCut controls, which is the combination our technicians see most often and know best.
When you submit a request, include the model and serial number. Consumables in particular vary by cutting head, so identifying the machine precisely before anything ships avoids the most common delay.
The three faults we see most
1. Machine will not fire
Start with the safety interlocks rather than assuming a laser fault. Check the water flow sensor first — a stuck magnetic plunger is the single most common cause. Then confirm all doors are fully closed, check E-stop status, and read the fault codes on the controller.
Roughly 90% of no-fire cases turn out to be safety interlocks working correctly, not a failed laser source. It is worth walking the interlock chain before booking a call-out.
2. Cut quality has degraded
On any fiber laser the usual suspects are a degraded protective lens, a worn or damaged nozzle, focus position drift, and assist gas pressure or purity. A clouded or spattered protective lens is the most common single cause and the cheapest to rule out — check it before investigating the source or the motion system.
3. Consumables running short
Protective lenses and nozzles are wear items on every fiber laser regardless of brand. Running a marginal lens costs more in scrap and rework than replacing it, and a badly degraded lens can let heat reach components behind it.
Fiber laser sources carry both high voltage and invisible infrared radiation. Interlocks exist for a reason. If a fault requires opening the enclosure or bypassing a safety circuit to diagnose, stop and book a technician.
