Kulwant Chalotra founds Rise Tek Machinery in Canada with a focus on importing industrial equipment from Europe and South Asia. Where other dealers relied on third-party brokers, Rise Tek went direct — sourcing machines at the factory level and handling every step of the import process. Canadian manufacturers got better machines at better prices, with someone local to call if anything went wrong.

Over the next decade, Rise Tek built a reputation in the heavy machining sector — specifically boring mills. Kulwant sourced, imported, and placed more boring mills in Canadian shops than any other dealer in the country. Alongside new imports, Rise Tek also ran an active used CNC operation: lathes, turning centres, HMC/VMCs, engine lathes, wire EDMs, press brakes, plasmas, and more — all vetted before placement, all backed by Rise Tek's direct support.

Seeing the shift in Canadian manufacturing toward precision fabrication, Rise Tek expanded into new equipment — fiber laser cutting machines, press brakes, and related CNC fabrication technology. This wasn't a departure from the company's roots; it was a natural extension of the same sourcing network, the same supplier relationships, and the same hands-on commitment to quality control before any machine ships.

Today, Rise Tek has supplied over 100 fiber laser cutting machines, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment to shops from British Columbia to Ontario. Every machine still comes with the same direct-from-factory sourcing, in-house delivery and installation, operator training, and a full year of after-sale support. The team has grown — but the promise hasn't changed.
