Rise Tek Machinery was founded by Kulwant Chalotra in 2004 with a simple belief: Canadian manufacturers deserve a local partner who stands behind every machine they sell — not just until the cheque clears, but for years after.
"The best machine dealers aren't just salespeople — they're people who understand what happens the moment the machine starts running."
Kulwant Chalotra launched Rise Tek Machinery in 2004, drawing on years of hands-on experience sourcing industrial equipment from Europe and South Asia. While other dealers sold from catalogues, Kulwant built supplier relationships on the ground — inspecting machines, negotiating directly with manufacturers, and carrying them across the ocean to Canadian shop floors.
In the early years, Rise Tek became known across the country for one thing in particular: boring mills. Kulwant personally imported more boring mills into Canada than any other dealer of his time — earning him the industry nickname that still follows him today: "The Boring Mill Guy."
Rise Tek also built a strong used CNC business alongside its new-import line. Shops across Canada relied on Kulwant to source quality pre-owned equipment — lathes, turning centres, HMCs, VMCs, engine lathes, wire EDMs, press brakes, plasmas, and more — with the same hands-on vetting he brought to every new machine deal.
In 2017, Kulwant recognized the shift coming to Canadian manufacturing — fiber laser cutting machines and CNC press brakes were about to transform fabrication shops. Rise Tek pivoted to meet that demand head-on, and hasn't looked back since.
From a single import to over a hundred machines across Canada — the Rise Tek story, chapter by chapter.
Kulwant Chalotra founds Rise Tek Machinery in Canada with a focus on importing industrial equipment from Europe and South Asia. Where other dealers relied on third-party brokers, Rise Tek went direct — sourcing machines at the factory level and handling every step of the import process. Canadian manufacturers got better machines at better prices, with someone local to call if anything went wrong.
Founded in CanadaOver the next decade, Rise Tek built a reputation in the heavy machining sector — specifically boring mills. Kulwant sourced, imported, and placed more boring mills in Canadian shops than any other dealer in the country. Alongside new imports, Rise Tek also ran an active used CNC operation: lathes, turning centres, HMC/VMCs, engine lathes, wire EDMs, press brakes, plasmas, and more — all vetted before placement, all backed by Rise Tek's direct support.
#1 Boring Mill Importer in CanadaSeeing the shift in Canadian manufacturing toward precision fabrication, Rise Tek expanded into new equipment — fiber laser cutting machines, press brakes, and related CNC fabrication technology. This wasn't a departure from the company's roots; it was a natural extension of the same sourcing network, the same supplier relationships, and the same hands-on commitment to quality control before any machine ships.
Fiber Laser & Press Brake Era BeginsToday, Rise Tek has supplied over 100 fiber laser cutting machines, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment to shops from British Columbia to Ontario. Every machine still comes with the same direct-from-factory sourcing, in-house delivery and installation, operator training, and a full year of after-sale support. The team has grown — but the promise hasn't changed.
100+ Machines & CountingAfter 20 years, the differentiators are the same ones Kulwant built the company on from day one.
Rise Tek is headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario. When you call, you reach someone who knows your machine, your industry, and your Canadian regulatory requirements — not a call centre overseas.
Kulwant's supplier relationships go back decades. Rise Tek sources directly from manufacturers in Europe and Asia — cutting out middlemen and passing quality control and cost savings directly to the customer.
Delivery, installation, and operator training are included with every machine. After commissioning, customers have direct access to the Rise Tek service team — with a 1-year after-sale service commitment and up to 1-year parts warranty.
Professional riggers and certified technicians handle every move — from your driveway to your exact shop floor location. Rise Tek manages the entire logistics chain including import, customs clearance, and on-site commissioning.
Rise Tek works with Canadian financing partners to offer flexible equipment financing programs — so shops can get the machine they need today without waiting for capital to free up.
Rise Tek's team will tell you honestly if a machine isn't the right fit for your application — and recommend the one that is. Two decades of application experience means the consultation is as valuable as the machine itself.
Rise Tek Machinery is part of a group of companies dedicated to supporting machine shops, fabrication shops, and manufacturers across North America — from new equipment to used machinery to parts and consumables.
