Han's Laser · SLU Series
High Efficiency · Full-process Automation · Labor Savings · Convenient Control
The SLU Series is Han's Laser's mid-tier automated loading and unloading system — engineered for full-process automation at a price point your shop can actually justify. A C-shaped bracket assembly line carries an integrated loading/unloading device with vacuum suction cups and a comb-fork sorter. High-and-low electronic carts shuttle raw material in and finished parts out. Optional FMS smart control orchestrates the whole cell. Less capital than ALU lights-out; far more throughput than SL semi-automatic.

The SLU Series delivers fully automated pick-up, loading, processing, and unloading at optimal cost efficiency. Designed for high productivity, low operational cost, and user-friendly control — it streamlines production while reducing labour and expenses.
The main machining parts — including the span beam of the C-shaped bracket — are welded from profiles and treated with a four-stage process: weld, rough machine, vibratory stress relief, then refined machining. The result is a frame that holds tolerance under repeated cycling, year after year.
A single welded frame carries vacuum suction cups (each individually solenoid-controlled, so the rig adapts to whichever sheet you load) and a comb-shaped fork. The fork lifts finished parts and skeletons from gaps in the worktable via horizontal insertion, then transfers them to the sorting carts — all in one continuous cycle. Vertical and horizontal motion are precision-driven for repeatable sheet handling.
Sensitive thickness measurement and precise layering ensure single-sheet production every cycle. The SLU prevents the silent killer of automated cutting cells — incorrect double-sheet feeds that damage the cutter, scrap parts, and stop production.
Continuous loading and unloading drives a meaningful step-up in productivity — by eliminating the unexpected manual interventions that interrupt cycle time on a semi-automatic line. Your cutter spends more time cutting and less time waiting.
Equipped with safety interlock switches and no-dead-angle guardrails, the SLU keeps personnel out of the automation envelope while the cell runs. CSA-aligned safety design — ready for Canadian shop-floor regulations and insurance requirements out of the box.
Optional · Smart Control
Suitable for 1-to-N cutting production lines. The FMS can run independently or integrate with HansAPC-FMS 4.0 as part of the main control system. Supports pre-processing marking, dispatch order execution, and processing performance feedback — automatically assigning the machine, loading the processing program, and applying the right process technology. Dynamic task scheduling keeps loading, unloading, and the cutter coordinated for maximum throughput.
The full HansAPC-FMS 4.0 system exchanges data with external ERP, MES, WMS, and CAM systems — dispatching production tasks to automated production line clients and other workstation clients (sorting, uncoiling, punching, shearing). Each client handles equipment instruction control, task execution, and data collection within its scope, while continuously exchanging real-time data with the FMS 4.0 layer. Your laser cell becomes a data node in the broader smart factory.
The standard control system uses a PLC controller with all subsystems deployed on the ProfiNet bus protocol — a true distributed control system. Programs follow IEC international standards: modular, standardized, generalized, and easy to upgrade. Built-in efficient self-diagnosis and self-processing functions, plus extensive anomaly monitoring and alarm functions. Maintenance is straightforward; recovery is fast.
Why SLU Series
Full-process automation — pick-up, loading, processing, unloading — at a capital cost a single-shift shop can actually justify against existing manual labour.
40 m/min beam travel, 8 m/min positioning, 20 m/min cart movement. Continuous loading/unloading eliminates the manual-intervention bottleneck.
Sensitive layering with thickness verification ensures single-sheet production. Vacuum cups individually solenoid-controlled for adaptive sheet gripping.
Interlocked safety guardrails with no-dead-angle protection keep personnel out of the cell envelope while the system runs unattended.
PLC on ProfiNet bus with IEC-standard modular programming, anomaly monitoring, and built-in self-diagnostic functions. Maintenance-friendly out of the box.

Process Overview
Raw sheet material loaded onto the high-bay electronic cart. The SLU cart positions stock for the loading sequence.
Independent solenoid-controlled vacuum cups grip a single sheet. Layering and thickness sensors verify before transfer to the cutter bed.
Cutter executes the nested program. The SLU prepares the next sheet in queue while cutting completes — minimizing idle time.
The comb fork inserts horizontally into worktable gaps, lifts finished parts and skeleton, transfers to the sorting cart.
High-and-low dual-cart configuration enables continuous flow — finished parts exit, fresh material enters, no operator intervention required.
