CNC Control System

It calculates bend allowances, manages the back gauge axes (typically 2–6 CNC axes), controls the ram's Y1 and Y2 axes independently for crowning compensation, and sequences multi-bend programs automatically. Modern controllers like the Delem DA-66T or ESA 660 store programs graphically and import DXF files directly from CAD.
Bending Process
The operator loads a flat sheet against the back gauge stops, triggers the cycle, and the ram descends to a programmed depth — which, combined with the die opening and material spring-back compensation, produces the target angle. The back gauge advances to the next position automatically, and the process repeats for each bend in the program.
